Park City was named “The Best Town Ever” by Outside Magazine in its September, 2013, issue. Those who live in Utah’s famous celeb-city would agree.

How about you? What would make you rate PC as the best town ever? Would it be proximity of three world-class ski resorts? Maybe you’d pick the hundreds of miles of trails that are great for hiking, biking or cross country skiing. Perhaps you would choose the fine dining, or the free transportation, or the pleasure of driving around and looking at the exquisite homes.

Those are all great reasons to love Park City. For out-of-towners, it could be accessibility. Park City is only 30 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport. Grab your luggage, take a direct shuttle, and be on the snow in less than an hour.

LivePCGivePC_logo2012Even the internationally famous Sundance film festival contributes to our town’s reputation for glitz and glamour. But insiders who live here know a different side of Park City. It’s the caring side, the giving back that identifies our community. Many of those who talk to the Schlopy team about real estate find a welcoming warmth in that aspect of Park City.

Our city has a long list of organizations that work to provide recreation, protect open space, foster the arts, provide a thriving environment in our schools and provide many opportunities to make social connections while volunteering.

In fact, our entire community will come together on November 8th for our annual 24 hours of giving; the Live PC/Give PC eventIt’s an extraordinary day and night of support for the organizations that make Park City special. Team Schlopy is proud that Summit Sotheby’s will be a Peak Sponsor of this year’s Live PC/Give PC event. Many of the organizations that will participate exist to serve a favorite aspect of local residents.

For example:
The Summit Land Conservatory is a local land trust dedicated to saving open space in Park City and Summit County, Utah. They help preserve the views and terrain we all have grown to love.

The Mountain Trails Foundation works closely with the Snyderville Basin Recreation, Park City Municipal Corp. and Summit County to create a year round interconnecting trail system. There are over 400 miles of recreational trails in Summit and Wasatch Counties.

The Kimball Art Center offers a variety of exhibitions, ranging from national shows of historical significance, to those featuring up and coming local artists. Kimball Art Center also hosts a variety of activities to serve both artists and art enthusiasts in the Park City area.

Park City Education Foundation works to inspire excellence and innovation in Park City
schools. With a goal to raise $1,000,000 this year, the PCEF will keep 100% of the dollars raised here in Park City.

Live PC/Give PC is your chance to give back to the organizations who help create the giving side of Park City, Utah. The groups listed above are just a small example of those  who need your assistance on November 8th. There are many more, such as Recycle Utah, the Utah Symphony and OperaArts Kids,The National Ability Center, and others. Click here for more information
