Early snow and cold temperatures across the mountain west have spread a layer of optimism throughout Park City that this is going to be a great winter on the Wasatch Back! We are ready. Team Schlopy strives to provide valuable information about living in the Greater Park City Area, community topics and real estate issues that we feel are important to our clientele. Our association with Summit Sotheby’s International Realty gives buyers and sellers in Park City a proven advantage, and yet much like the early winter snow, we don’t stop there.

2012 has been a great year in Park City and for Team Schlopy! We are stepping up our efforts to find new avenues to better serve our clients. Finding new ways to increase the exposure of the properties we market through our real estate search website, and updating our data base to help track, follow up and better serve our clients. We unveiled a new virtual tour platform to showcase our seller’s properties. Finally in 2012, we hired more staff to step-up our online presence and look over our transactions. The results speak for themselves. Team Schlopy helped eighty-five of our clients buy or sell real estate this year.

In this month’s update we provided details about the “2013 Real Estate Tax.” It is important that you understand how this new tax law will, or in all likelihood, not effect you. Contact Team Schlopy if you would like more information on the new tax.

We also want to highlight what will be a fantastic holiday gift for the entire Park City community. 781 acres of open space! It looks like public donations will be met and the open space preserved.

Finally we encourage you to take a virtual tour of one on the featured properties by visiting our listings at www.teamschlopy.com.

We are continuing to find ways to improve our communication to you. Whether through our state-of-the-art web site, ParkCityHomesNow.com or through our social network on Facebook and Twitter. Please feel free to contact us directly if you have any comments. We welcome Park City-related questions or real estate inquiries. Remember we welcome your referrals for any real estate needs here in Park City, or beyond.

New 2012 Real Estate Tax
How will the new law affect you?

First, no one likes a new tax, however unless something happens between now and the end of the year, taxes are going up. Let’s not hide from that. This was slated to happen no matter who was elected in November. Click here for more information from the National Association of REALTORS.

That said, it is important to understand that this new tax is not a transfer tax on real estate. As with all tax-related information, Team Schlopy recommends that you contact your tax professional for advise on how this new law will affect you.
